Training Week 4/25 – 5/2/10

May 2, 2010 § Leave a comment

This week was good.  Feeling less tired.  I had to re-arrange my workout schedule toward the end of the week, but I managed to complete week 10 of ETK.  Only 2 more weeks left!!!

Here’s my week:

Sunday, 4/25 -20 minutes of the following circuit:  4 (95lb) deadlifts, 1 (12kg) TGU, 20 skips rope, 10 seconds rest.   Managed 9 rounds.

Monday, 4/26 – 45 minute spin class

Tuesday, 4/27 – ETK, light day.  10kg clean, press, pull ladders.  5 ladders, 3 rungs (60 reps).  9 minutes of swings, 20 reps, 20 seconds rest.  Managed 10 rounds or 200 swings.  Time 35:25.

Wednesday, 4/28 – OFF

Thursday, 4/29 – ETK, medium day.  10kg clean, press, pull ladders.  5 ladders, 4 rungs (100 reps).  7 minutes of swings, 30 reps, 20 seconds rest.  Managed 6 rounds + 5 reps, 185 swings total.  Time 46:43.

Friday, 4/30 – Treadmill run.  5 mins walking, 2 miles at 9:30 pace, 1 mile of intervals, 5 mins of walking.

Saturday, 5/1 – OFF

Sunday, 5/2 – ETK, heavy day.  10kg clean, press, pull ladders.  5 ladders, 5 rungs (150 presses).  8 minutes of swings, 25 reps, 5 seconds rest.  Managed 10 rounds or 250 swings.  Time 54:51.  Note: 5 seconds rest is barely enough time to catch your breath.  Those swings were brutal!

Next week starts week 11 of Enter the Kettlebell.  I can’t believe I’m almost done with this program.  I am starting to think of what I want to focus on next.  I am certain that more rounds of ETK are in my future.  Pressing is very challenging for mind and body, and most importantly it’s FUN!

Until next week friends, train hard!  🙂
