Training Week 8/8 – 8/14/10

Not much to report during this week of training. Here’s my week:
Sunday, 8/8 – OFF
Monday, 8/9 – 10 minutes of: 2 deadlifts, 5 walking lunges, 10 swings, 20 seconds rest. 7 rounds. Then 15 rounds of 15:15 20kg swings. 18 minutes total.
Tuesday, 8/10 – 12kg clean, press, pull ladders. 3 ladders, 3 rungs. 10 rounds of 20:15 20kg swings. Time 23:30.
Wednesday, 8/11 – OFF
Thursday, 8/12 – OFF
Friday, 8/13 – really tough 1 hour spin class
So, as you can see, I’ve been a slacker. More days off than usual, and just generally dragging. I want to continue with kettlebell training but I desperately need to change it up for my own mental sanity. I’ve decided to do phase 1 of New Rules of Lifting for Women again. It’s a very basic program to improve deadlifts and squats. Don’t mistake basic for easy though. Since it’s only 2 days a week, I will still incorporate kettlebells. The good news is that after over a year of having completed this phase, exercises like push ups and prone jackknives are much easier this time around. 🙂
